NEXO GEO M10 Brings Performance and Flexibility to Rock & Rolls Cover Band Events

In 2026, Jokes Family Oy, the company behind the Rolls burger chain, upgraded the sound system of the Rock & Rolls Cover Band by purchasing a new NEXO GEO M10 system from Electro Waves. The goal was to find a high-quality, powerful and easy-to-transport solution capable of meeting the demands of their growing events.

Rock & Rolls Cover Band is made up of Rolls employees who are also professional musicians. The band performs actively around Finland, both at Rolls marketing events and at various corporate and public events. The venues range from smaller indoor events to large outdoor events, which means that the sound system is required to provide both performance and flexibility.

“Our performance venues have grown in recent years, and we needed a larger and higher-quality system to meet our new needs. We also wanted to be self-sufficient and not dependent on rental equipment,” says Tommi Oksanen, Administrative Manager of Jokes Family Oy, who also plays drums in the band.

Power, Coverage and High-Quality Sound

The most important selection criteria for the new system were sound coverage, maintaining sound quality even at high volume levels, and as compact a size as possible.

“We wanted a system in which the sound quality remains intact even when the volume is increased. In addition, the physical size and weight of the PA system had to remain reasonable with touring use in mind.”

The choice was the NEXO GEO M10 line array system, whose price-performance ratio convinced the band based on several practical listening and user experiences.

“We had the opportunity to test different systems at a few shows, and we were impressed by NEXO’s performance. It responded very well to our technical requirements and, of course, also to our budget.”

A Versatile Solution for Touring Use

The delivered system consists of twelve GEO M10 series line array loudspeakers, ten of which are M1012 models and two M1025 models equipped with 120-degree waveguides. In addition, the system is complemented by six L18 subwoofers and two P8 fill loudspeakers. Amplification and processing are handled by NXAMP4X1MK2, NXAMP4X2MK2 and NXAMP4X4MK2 amplifiers.

Special attention was paid to the practicality of the system for mobile use. The subwoofers were equipped with wheel boards, and the delivery also included bumpers and Kuzar K-31 lifts for suspending the line array system, enabling safe and efficient setup in different event environments.

A Result That Exceeded Expectations

The system has been actively used at various events around Finland, and the user experiences have been very positive.

“We have been extremely satisfied with the system. It has even exceeded our original expectations. The opportunity to adjust and optimise the system to suit our own needs has been particularly valuable, allowing us to get the full benefit from the system’s performance,” Oksanen says.

In practice, the system has proven to be both high-performing and easy to transport.

“The system is extremely compact for its size. It is easy to transport and pack, and it takes surprisingly little space in our tour bus. In addition, it has worked brilliantly at all our events, both indoors and outdoors. The system has been more than sufficient for the venues where we have performed.”

Smooth Cooperation from Start to Finish

Jokes Family Oy and Electro Waves have a long shared history. The company has previously purchased, among other things, a performance stage, truss solutions and lighting technology from Electro Waves.

The familiar partner also succeeded in convincing them in connection with this project.

“The system design process went really smoothly. We had experienced professionals helping us define exactly what we needed and which solution would best suit our requirements.”

Oksanen also praises the smooth progress of the project from delivery to commissioning.

“The delivery was fast, even though the project took place in the middle of the holiday season. We also received excellent support during commissioning, and the system was quickly made operational. Special thanks for this go to Minka Matikainen from Electro Waves.”

The long-term cooperation with Electro Waves has also strengthened the customer’s confidence with regard to future purchases.

Papa Andreas is a Greek restaurant located on Pohjoisesplanadi in the heart of Helsinki, Finland, combining a relaxed atmosphere with a high-quality dining experience. Its elegant interior and lively customer flow place high demands on the venue’s sound environment – the background music must enhance the atmosphere without interfering with conversation.

Electro Waves, the official Finnish distributor of AUDAC, designed and installed an AUDAC sound system consisting of six VIRO5 loudspeakers that blend naturally into the interior thanks to their compact size, along with two subwoofers that provide the necessary depth and rich bass response. The system also includes an MTX48 audio matrix. The installation is controlled via an MWX45 wall panel, allowing the restaurant staff to easily adjust the volume and select the desired audio source. In addition, a WP220 connection module functions as a Bluetooth receiver, providing a convenient way to connect external audio sources wirelessly.

The customer contacted Electro Waves well before the restaurant’s opening, making it possible to carry out a careful and proactive planning process. The sound system was designed by Electro Waves’ Marko Koskimies, with the project beginning with a thorough survey of the premises. Electro Waves was also responsible for the complete installation of the system, ensuring that all equipment was installed neatly, safely, and in accordance with the design while meeting all technical requirements.

The completed solution delivers a balanced and pleasant sound environment that is distributed evenly throughout the venue and adapts naturally to the restaurant’s different operating situations. With AUDAC products, even a smaller sound system can be implemented cost-effectively without compromising on sound quality.
