The NH Collection’s five-star Grand Hansa Hotel, recently opened in the heart of Helsinki, features state-of-the-art AV technology designed, implemented, and installed by Electro Waves. Located in a historical setting, the hotel combines two iconic buildings – the New Student House and Seurahuone – offering modern comforts and a premium experience to its guests.
The project was mastered by Electro Waves and it covered all areas of the hotel, from meeting rooms and restaurants to the ballroom. It also included the lobby’s information displays and sound systems. Hotel Director Tom Strandberg tells, that guests expect high quality in everything. “It is crucial that the systems work flawlessly. Well-executed AV technology is essential for us – the less feedback we receive about the equipment, the better. It means everything works as it should.”

Electro Waves designed and installed a wide range of modern and functional solutions for Grand Hansa:
Ballroom
The three large screens and high-quality speaker system in the ballroom enable both meetings and celebratory events. Wireless microphones and an AV-over-IP system ensure ease of use.
Socis meeting room
The round meeting room features an impressive curved LED wall (4.8 m x 2.61 m) and a Genelec speaker system, delivering excellent sound quality and atmosphere.
Hotel rooms and common areas
Background music systems and information displays enhance the guest experience.

The pandemic and the rise of hybrid work have influenced the hotel industry as well. Strandberg tells that technology really must meet modern customer expectations. Guests bring their own devices, which must integrate effortlessly with the hotel’s systems. “People are now used to smooth systems, and for Teams meetings, for example, the equipment and spaces need to be ready. Electro Waves understood these needs and implemented them excellently.”
